I was reading an article tonight about Blagojevich’s scandal that erupted today. One part of the article quoted his election night speech in which, after having won the election for the Illinois governor in 2002, Blagojevich said,
Tonight, ladies and gentlemen, Illinois has voted for change.
I couldn’t help but think of another speech, given not too far away, just last month, when the speaker said,
Tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to America.
Hopefully we won’t look back in a few years and be able to draw any more comparisons than that…
