Found a site that explains different ways to do custom post ordering in WordPress.

aStickyPostOrderER works wonderfully.  It allows you to custom sort all of your posts, make some posts sticky, sort only certain categories – you can order it any way you like.  I *would* say “It works like a dream”, but when the plugin is active, every time I add a new post, I get a script error.  The post is still there, and in fact there really isn’t a problem, but I just don’t like to see an error screen every time I post on my blog.

WP-Snap Plugin looks like a good way to provide an alphabetical sorting option.  I haven’t tried this one out yet…
